Kia Ride & Drive Moves Business Forward

Kia Canada recently hosted over 55 fleet customers and partners at Toronto’s Ontario Place for its 2019 Kia Canada Fleet Ride & Drive.

The event gave customers and prospects the opportunity to see and experience Kia’s latest product line up, including the Telluride, Soul, Sorento, Sportage, Forte and Niro EV.

Stephanie Smith, Manager, National Fleet Sales, Kia Canada, welcomed guests and thanked everyone for their attendance. Stephanie introduced the Kia Fleet Team, as well as talked about kiafleet.ca, which recently launched their easy to use online FAN numbering system for customers. She also spoke to Kia’s new competitive incentive program, details of which are made available online.

Reg Furoy, National Manager, Training at Kia Canada led a product presentation. Reg talked in depth about Kia’s proud 3rd generation Kia Soul. With multiple trim lines, next generation infotainment and advanced drive assistance systems technology, the 2020 Soul continues to offer more for less. The Kia Soul EV provides the opportunity for Soul lovers to drive without ever stopping for gas, with a range of up to 385 km per charge.

A second notable vehicle at the day’s event was the all-new 2020 Kia Telluride. The midsize SUV is the company’s largest vehicle to date. It provides comfortable seating for up to eight, a powerful 291-hp 3.8-liter V6 and available active on-demand all-wheel drive. The SUV offers drivers a choice of four drive modes – Smart, Eco, Sport and Comfort – each using different settings for powertrain, drivetrain, and steering effort mapping to provide the desired driving experience.  In addition to the four regular drive modes, in vehicles equipped with AWD, drivers can select from two different modes, “Snow” and “AWD Lock”, for specific driving conditions.

As Kia’s flagship SUV, the Telluride can be outfitted with an array of advanced technology and Kia’s “Drive Wise” Advanced Driver-Assistance Systems like forward collision warning, active lane assist, blind spot detection, smart cruise control and more. Telluride is equipped with the UVO telematics system featuring an embedded modem that allows Telluride drivers to monitor and control a number of vehicle operations, including, remote and safety services, vehicle health diagnostics and location services. UVO telematics is free for 5 years for Kia fleet vehicles.

The afternoon featured a Ride & Drive, which gave attendees the chance to test Kia’s lineup on a closed course track with professional drivers. In addition, back-up camera parking and box loading challenges gave attendees greater insights into Kia capability. With prize give aways and food trucks, the event was a big success.

“I was impressed with how much cargo room the Kia Soul offers. The box challenge was a lot of fun.” Sheryl Robb, Account Executive, Wheels commented. Vince Kam, General Manager at North York Kia mentioned Tellurides early success in Canada, “We can’t seem to keep them on our lot. It’s an impressive vehicle”.

Kia is celebrating its 20th year in Canada.
